The working principle and matters needing attention of diamond roller


High-precision diamond dressing rollers (referred to as diamond rollers or rollers) are high-efficiency, high-life, and low-cost grinding wheel dressing tools for special machine tools and gear grinding machines used for large-scale molding grinding.

Working principle:

The working principle of the diamond roller is: by installing it on the dressing device of the grinding machine, the diamond roller dressing the ordinary ceramic grinding wheel or CBN grinding wheel, and then grinding the parts after the grinding wheel is formed, so that the outline, accuracy and size of the diamond roller are copied to the surface of the parts to be processed by the grinding wheel. It is characterized by simple operation of the machine tool, low technical requirements for operators, good accuracy and consistency of processed products, stable quality, which can significantly improve production efficiency and product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and easily realize grinding automation. Compared with the traditional single-point diamond pen dressing, the production efficiency is greatly improved, and the surface quality and precision of the processed parts are higher, which is especially suitable for high-precision and mass production.

Note:

(1) the size of the diamond is more than the size of the grinding wheel should be coarse, but also choose the diamond particle size is close to the same, the particle shape is approximately spherical, commonly used particle size is 36#~ 100#.

(2) Generally, the linear velocity direction at the contact point between the roller and the grinding wheel is in the same direction, and the ratio (qd value) of the linear velocity of the roller to the linear velocity of the grinding wheel is preferably 0.3~0.7, not more than 1; When dressing, the cutting-in amount of the roller should be 0.5 ~ 1μm per rotation of the grinding wheel, and the total amount of grinding wheel dressing should be 0.02~0.04mm, and the light dressing time should be compressed as much as much as possible.

(3) The manufacturing error of the diamond roller should be less than about 1/2 of the workpiece tolerance, and the matching clearance between the roller hole and the mounting bearing is 2 ~ 4μm.

(4) can use natural or synthetic diamond, synthetic diamond must use high strength grade diamond, such as grinding steel special diamond SCD or high strength diamond SMD.

(5) When the roller is manufactured, the roller with general precision can be used for external plating and sintering, and the roller with high precision and complex surface can be manufactured for internal plating and grinding and trimming.

(6) When dressing the grinding wheel with the diamond roller, the action procedure of fast forward (not touching the grinding wheel) → slow forward (feeding according to the required cutting speed) and light repair and exit must be observed, and no wrong step is allowed, otherwise the life of the roller is difficult to guarantee.
